At Chailey school we use a parent portal called Arbor.

 

Abor can either be accessed on a computer web browser via the Arbor website or on a smart phone using the free Arbor app which can be downloaded from your app store by searching “arbor”.

 

We use Arbor for

  • communication with families
  • issuing student progress reports
  • booking parent consultation appointments,
  • behaviour and achievement notifications
  • home learning
  • Gathering parental consents and information
  • Managing clubs and educational visits

 

We strongly encourage our parents to use Arbor as it is our main source of communication and information

Logging in for the first time

To create your account you need to go to https://login.arbor.sc and enter the email address you registered with the school. Then click Forgot your password? to finish setting up your account. 

 

If you have any issues logging in, please contact the school office so that we can ensure our record of your email address matches the one you are using to log in.

 

The first time you log in, you will be asked to read and confirm Arbor’s terms and conditions. As a security measure you will be prompted to confirm your child’s date of birth. (If you have more than one child at the school, please confirm the date of birth of your eldest child. Once you are logged in, you will be able to switch between children)

Enabling push notifications

Please ensure you have turned on push notifications by going to Settings > Apps > Arbor > Notifications. iOS users will be prompted to receive push notifications when you download the app, ensure you select ‘allow’.

You must enable push notifications to receive a notification when you have a new in-app message. If you do not enable this, you will not be alerted to a new message and may miss important information.

 

Troubleshooting

If you cannot log in to Arbor and have checked the email address you are using matches the email address held by the school you can follow these steps:

  • If you have more than one child, make sure you are entering the date of birth of your eldest child to access the app for the first time.
  • Only relatives who are primary guardians of a child can access the app. You can ask the school office to confirm if you are listed as Primary guardian. Primary Guardians are the person/s who have parental responsibility for the student.
  • Make sure you are accessing the app on a phone; the app will not function on a tablet.
  • If however none of the above steps results in you successfully logging in to the App, please contact the school. Please do not contact Arbor directly.

Why has the school moved to Arbor?

The local authority recommended the school move to Arbor as a more modern system for managing the school’s data and information. Previously the school used SIMS internally and Edulink externally. Arbor integrates all of our information management, in the long-term this should make our operations more efficient. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused families and thank you for your patience during this major transition for the school.

 

I am a guardian and I am having trouble logging in to Arbor

My child is having trouble logging in to Arbor

There is no app for students. They must log in via a browser using this link:

https://chailey-school.uk.arbor.sc

Students have been emailed their username and password. Here is a guide to help students log in and use the Arbor app. If students are using their phone to view the portal is can be helpful to change to “desktop site” in their browser.

 

Where can my child see their home learning assignments?

These are displayed on the main screen of the student portal. Parents can also view assignments but they cannot submit them. Here is a guide for assignments on Arbor.
