On Wednesday, a group of Year 9 students visited the engineering department at Cambridge University to consider how we may be able to mitigate the effects of climate change in the future, learn a bit more about the variety of engineering, and also raise aspirations for applications to top universities in the future. There they were involved in a 'Living Lab' workshop on building sustainable structures for the future, and testing how their models would cope with increased flooding. Lunch at Churchill College followed, along with a guided walk of parts of Cambridge and the colleges with Mr Dudgeon and Mrs Rickman.
