Chailey School Equestrian Team
Chailey Equestrian Team has been a member of The National Schools' Equestrian Association (NSEA) since September 2016. The aim of the NSEA is to promote and encourage the participation in and recognition of equestrian sport within schools in Great Britain. Being a member of the NSEA provides the opportunity to represent Chailey School at prestigious inter-school equestrian competitions throughout the country. Disciplines include Dressage, Show Jumping, Arena Eventing (‘Jumping with Style'), One Day Events, Hunter Trials and Tetrathlons. They take place at local, county, regional and national levels. Jumping is 70-75cm, 80-85cm, 90-95cm & 1.00 – 1.05m so all levels can compete. We started in 2016 with eight members and since then have competed in all disciplines, at all levels, representing Chailey School throughout Sussex and beyond! Our most proud achievements were qualifying and being placed 4th in the Hickstead Arena Championships in May and qualifying and competing in the National Championships at Bury Farm.
We have training carried out by Angela Whitehead, our qualified riding instructor and takes place ideally once or twice a month depending on dates of competitions. We also get together for fun lessons and an opportunity to all meet up, parents, children & ponies alike!
Our brilliant supporting teachers are Louise Thompson & Bea Walker and our new school riding captain is Lily Kianfar 10GL.
If you are a rider at Chailey School, who has their own pony or use of a pony we would love for you to become a member of the team. Above all, Chailey Equestrian Team is great fun and an amazing opportunity to represent Chailey School and be part of something really special.
