Applying for a place

Apply for a place at Chailey School for all year groups, during the academic year or for September 2023:

From 1st September 2014, schools became responsible for their own in-year admissions. If you would like to apply for a place at Chailey School, then please email Mrs Serena Rodd, PA to the Head Teacher on srodd@chaileyschool.org with the name, DOB, year group of entry, reason for leaving last school and any additional needs. You will then need to apply for a place through ESCC. Information is available on the link below:

Transition from Year 6 into Year 7 for entry in September 2023:

Applications to move to secondary school from Year 6 must be submitted to East Sussex County Council and not direct to the School. These applications can be submitted online via the East Sussex County Council website by following this link:

or by downloading and printing a paper application form and posting it to School Admissions (the address is shown on the application form). 

Admissions information for entry into Year 7 in September 2023 will be available from September 2022.  The closing date for applications being submitted is 31st October 2022.

For all admissions, East Sussex County Council is the admitting authority. Please contact ESCC for further information about admissions into any year group, including for information about appealing a place.
